Honey Island

Nick and I went to a blues bar in Dallas to see Honey Island Swamp Band. They were the band that played down in Corpus when Nick went out for Allen's bachelor party the night before the wedding. I wasn't able to go then and of course Sara wasn't either. We found out they were going to be in Dallas, so we decided to go. Allen, Sara, and Chase came too.

Nick's parent's watched Ramona. About halfway into the night, I was ready to home. I know that sounds terrible, but I was so tired from having class that morning. I missed Ramona and just wanted to be in bed cuddling with her. I also really needed to pump and forgot to bring my pump! The band was great, and we had a nice time out regardless of being worn out.

Ramona had a rough night. She wanted her momma, so she could sleep. She really fights sleeps normally anyway, but it was especially difficult when she didn't have me. It was good to get home and go to bed.

Macie Girl

My niece Macie had her 1st birthday today. Alicia threw a cupcake themed party. Ramona and Macie were checking each other out. Ramona bought Macie a cute outfit with some precious green flats from the Gap. I think she was buying them for her future self...go figure she's such a shopper!

We took a picture of the girls in their Born 2 $hop pacifiers. Hilarious.

Afterwards Mimi watched all 3 kids while we went out with Alicia and Cleve. We went to Fox and the Hound for dinner and shuffle board. I was exhausted after having to be up so early for class and on the go the entire day, but totally worth it!

Wedding

I officially have a sister-in-law now. Allen and Sara got married today. They had a beautiful ceremony and reception. Congratulations to you two!

Ramona was perfect and slept through the whole thing! I woke her up at the reception because I needed to feed her. She was happy during the reception. We left right afterwards to head home on the entertainer coach. Ramona was cracking me up because I had her on the seat before she went to bed and she kept turning in like she was going to nurse. She knows her routines. She wants to cuddle up to her momma when it's time for bed.

What an amazing time with family and friends. We had a wonderful trip even if it was short. Ramona was absolutely perfect and such a joy the entire time. She makes us smile and laugh every day! Nick and I both have MLK off on Monday, so we will get some family time with the 3 of us!

Corpus Christi

We traveled to Corpus Christi via airplane today for Nick's brother Allen's wedding. I was so worried about the airplane ride, but apparently I have the best traveling baby ever. She didn't cry at all on the plane for pretty much the entire day. We have also discovered that she loves her baby doll! She was cuddling with it while we waited for our rental and bags so precious.

Ramona slept through the rehearsal at the church. She was awake for a while at the rehearsal dinner and was so happy the whole time.

I know that she is a good baby, but she has been amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect but we have gotten perfection all day from her. I love her so much!

Happy Birthday Lolli

Tonight we headed for Silver Fox to celebrate Lolli's birthday. She slept almost the entire time. She got a little fussy towards the end because she wanted to eat and be home, but she did really well for how loud it was in there. It was a delicious meal and a good time with the family.

Impromptu Photo Shoot

Nick was admiring our gorgeous daughter today and figured he'd take some pictures of her since she changes so much everyday!

Caleb's 1st Birthday

Our friends Bryan and Amanda's son Caleb turned 1! We headed out to Wylie to celebrate. We've had Caleb and Ramona around each other before, but Caleb was really interested this trip. It may have just been all the excitement around his birthday (or the cake), but he wanted Ramona to acknowledge him. Caleb kept trying to get her to laugh and crawling over to her. Ramona just looked at him like she does to everyone just trying to figure out what's going on. It was hilarious. We had a great time celebrating with the Mylius family! We did have to rush home for the Cowboy playoff game against the Eagles which they won, so great day for the Wills!

National Championship

Ramona showed her school spirit today by wearing her burnt orange. Texas played Alabama in the Rose Bowl for the BCS national championship. She sported her jersey at daycare showing all the boys that she knows what's up. (She's the only girl in her class.) Texas lost, but all things considered did very well without McCoy.

Burrr...it's cold

It has been so cold here. It's been at or below freezing, but there hasn't been any rain or anything so no snow. I bundled Ramona up this morning. I couldn't resist taking a picture because she looked so precious.

3 Months

Ramona is 3 months! She has done a lot this past month. She had her first Christmas along with beautiful snow! Unfortunately, we didn't get out in the snow with her because her big, warm jacket (that Nick said she didn't need) was already wrapped up and under the tree. It wouldn't have been a big deal to get it except I was nervous about getting her out in the snow and cold anyway.

Ramona experienced her first New Years even if she was asleep before the ball dropped! She rolled over from her tummy to her back. She has been grabbing at objects not quite to the point that she is technically reaching out to grasp something. If you put something in her hand, she will hold it and of course put it in her mouth. She also started daycare at First Baptist Arlington. She is not only the lone girl in her class but also the only one who comes in a full out accessorized with a bow. Too cute everyday.

Everyday Ramona gets cuter, sweeter, and even more precious than the day before. I know I think it's impossible too, but it happens!

Christmas Break is Over

Well it was a tearful day for me. Christmas break is officially over which means I am back to work for good now without an extended break in sight (Spring Break is in March at least). I will now be counting down the days until summer. Today also marked Ramona's first day at daycare. We enrolled her at First Baptist Arlington. Nick and I both dropped her off this morning. There were 2 other kids who had their first day today too. That didn't make it any easier. I cried as we left and called about 3 times that day to check on everything. They said she was a really good baby. Of course that wasn't news to me. I know she's wonderful. I rushed there after work and was so glad to be with her again. She was smiling at me. I know she is counting down the days to summer too.

Happy Birthday Eric

We went to the Catfish Plantation in Waxahachie for our friend Eric's 30th birthday. The restaurant was supposed to be haunted, but we were too busy keeping up with Ramona to notice any paranormal activity. Eric and his wife Laurie have a son Ethan who is 1, so we got to introduce the kiddos for the first time.

Nick and I both order chicken fried steak. It was as big as our head and very delicious. It was a wonderful night with friends. Happy Birthday Eric!

Rolled Over

Well Happy New Year! Ramona just started the year off right by rolling over from her tummy to her back! She has been very close for the past couple of days and decided she wanted to wait until New Years to make it official! I told Nick we needed to get the flip about 5 seconds before she actually rolled over, so no video or pictures of this big event.

Happy New Years Lunch

We headed to Nick's parents' house for a New Year's lunch. Nick's mom made prime rib. They made it at Christmas too, but this time they tried a new recipe...so delicious.

New Year's Eve

I can't believe 2009 is over. It has been an amazing year for obvious reasons. We look forward to the coming year with more milestones from precious Ramona. Bryan and Amanda came over on New Year's Eve to bring in 2010. Alicia stopped by with the kids. Nick wanted to try his hand at making buffalo wings, so we busted out the deep fryer.
After fighting sleep because Nick and I weren't laying down with her, Ramona crashed before midnight.
