Doctors Appointment

I went to the doctor today for an unscheduled visit. Ramona has been quiet for the past 3 days. She has been moving, but she doesn't move as often or as forceful as she has been in the past 2 weeks. Her movements haven't been as rhythmic but more jerky and sporadic. I called just to make sure this was okay. My doctor wanted me to come in to monitor her just in case.

Nick had just walked into work like 20 minutes before I called and asked him to come home and take me to the doctor. Sorry you just drove 40 minutes to get there, but could you turn around and come home only to do it again in 2 hours? He, of course, is so great and rushed home. I left school (on the day before the last day!!). They hooked me up to a monitor that checked Ramona's heart rate and movements. I had to push a button every time I felt her move. This went on for 30 minutes. They decided everything was okay much to our relief.

I'm such a natural worrier anyway. Plus I don't want to take any chances. If I can avoid something potentially dangerous, then I would rather do that than live with regret. What do you expect from a first time pregnant women? I'm going to freak out about everything, because there is so much that I don't have a clue about.  I guess I'm on the road to constant worry now. When she arrives, I'll have even more to worry about. I still can't wait though! Nick says she's already giving us attitude because she didn't like the pressure from the monitor and was kicking directly at it. I think she just already knows she's going to be the princess.

25 Weeks

Well I hit the 25 week mark on Saturday. Ramona is about 13 and 1/2 inches and a pound and a half. I started seeing her move last week. On Tuesday she was having a dance party which absolutely cracked me up. My stomach just keeps popping out.

The heat is wearing me out more and more each day. The pool is becoming ever more tempting. I was really close to jumping in today, but I needed to get some things done. Maybe tomorrow...after my nap!

Bedding...Ugh

Well I went to EVERY Babies 'R Us in the DFW area (except Mesquite) today to find the bedding I want. No one had it. They all had Wendy Bellissimo things, but no pink swirl. I bought the Black Medallion set, but I don't really like it. I figured it was cheap and if I find something else I'll just return it. It could be cute, but it's missing something. Well it definitely needs a different crib sheet. Maybe the pink swirl will show up on ebay or I'll find something else.

I did some depressed shopping today too. I felt like I had such a waste of a day except for lunch with Nick of course. I figured I would make it productive by buying Ramona 3 bathing suits. She needs them. Trust me.

Doctor Visit at 23 weeks

I haven't taken a picture of myself this week, so here's the one from last weekend at 22 weeks.

I went to the doctor on Thursday. I rushed to get there after the kids left for summer break (yeah!). The waiting room was unusually empty, but don't worry it still took over an hour of waiting to actually see the doctor.

Ramona's heartbeat is 158 bpm. She's probably a little over a pound and about 11 inches long. Nick thinks it's crazy that she's already that big. What a shock the next couple of months are going to be for him when she gets bigger!

It's only been in the past 2 or 3 weeks that my stomach has really popped out. I'm still a little self conscious about it. I don't want people wondering if I'm pregnant or just have a beer belly. I've gained 7 pounds since my last doctor's visit a month ago, but I'm only up 7 pounds total for the whole pregnancy. I guess it could be worse.

I have 2 appointments scheduled for July. The first is the normal check up where they draw my blood for the glucose test...yuck. Then the next week after we are getting the 4D ultrasound!
