Happy Half Year

It's been 6 months which means an entire half of a year has past since we received the best blessing in the world, Ramona Christine. She decided she wanted to knock out some major milestones right before she turned the big 0.5

Firsts this month:
Ear infection - (worst first ever) She finally fully recovered from the battle of ear infection coupled with congestion that had our hearts breaking.

Pulling herself up in her bouncer

Sitting up which she has become really good at it lately! Sitting for sometimes several minutes at a time.

Slept through the night 2 nights in a row...then back to normal waking up and spending the rest of the night in our bed.

Rolled Over from back to front which has actually made her like being on her tummy more than she ever has.

Solids are still not her strong suit, but we are trudging along. She has had applesauce, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She likes applesauce best but is very far from figuring out the whole spoon thing.

First Easter with lots of clothes and cute stuff. Wonder if she'll be walking next year so she can hunt eggs.

Nick took her to the doctor today. Ramona is 25 and 1/2 inches long and 15 lbs. 8 oz. Wow she is getting big! She is average in height and weight. She is slightly overweight for her heigh but nothing major.

I have made it to my goal of 6 months of breast feeding. I am very proud that I made it this far. I don't know how much longer I will continue although Ramona pretty much dictates what she wants when it comes to food. If she won't take a bottle, then she gives me no choice. Like mother like daughter! I really don't want to stop though. She doesn't have teeth yet so that's a plus, but even when she gets teeth, I don't know if I will just pump exclusively or what.

Happy Easter

Baby Ramona's first Easter! The Easter Bunny left some very good candy for us in her basket! Along with a super cute Liberty of London dress that matches the one we got Macie B. for Easter!

We went to First Baptist Fort Worth. Then to Lolli and Pops for Easter lunch. Nenaw and Papa were there and got to see their great-granddaughter happy and playful. Lolli got her a rabbit and a storybook Bible in her Easter basket. She was pretty taken by the rabbit!

We headed out to Aledo for some Easter fun with the cousins and the Snowdens. Ramona and Macie cleaned up with 2 matching outfits from my mom, 1 from Alicia, and 1 from us. Poor girls will be dressed the same forever! Actually we don't dress them in the same thing unless it's a special occasion i.e. family pictures and Easter pictures. We just like knowing that they have the same outfit in case such occasion should randomly happen we will be ready. (Although truth be told, we would still probably just go shopping for new matching outfits because we have a reason to.)

Mimi got Ramona some sunglasses to prepare her for summer in the pool. She wasn't quite sure what to do with them, but I have faith that she will figure it out within the next couple of months!

Egg I don't need no stinkin egg

Our HOA had an Easter egg hunt at the park near our house today. I figured we would take her to socialize and maybe get a retake with the Easter bunny! There were a lot of kids there. Well more than I figured there would be considering the average age of the people who live in our neighborhood. (We live among the older people. It's the way to go.)

I tried to get Ramona to pick up an egg, but she wasn't really interested in it. She wanted to look around at all the kids. Then some little boy came up and took the egg I was trying to get her pick up. We just laughed. Kids are so funny. Of course it didn't really matter Ramona couldn't care less about the egg and she can't have the candy either, so it was a win-win for the little boy.

The Easter bunny did not make an appearance at the neighborhood due to zipper issues, but we already have a priceless picture so not that big of a deal!

3 Cousins

Since our portrait innovations session was such an epic fail, the Brunsons and the Wills decided to take matter into their own hands. We went to the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth for a quick photo session with master photographer Nick Wills. We got some good pictures and most importantly we have a great picture of the 3 cousins!
