Food

We bought Ramona her highchair today. I took forever deciding between 2. I finally went with the one we registered for. Go figure. Ramona loved sitting in the chair. She was laughing and smiling. We rolled her into the kitchen and mixed breast milk with some rice cereal. We started feeding her with a spoon. She kept trying to lap it up from the spoon. It was really cute.

We switched to a bottle to make it easier. She downed the whole thing. We figured that she would. She is a good eater and has never refused a feeding or missed a meal. She is our daughter after all!

Happy Valentine's Day

We celebrated our first Valentine's day together. We drove to Rendon to eat at the General Store for the best burger/shake ever. Unfortunately, they were closed. We settled for Rosa's instead which was still delicious. We went out to my sister's house afterwards. We spent some time with the family.

Ramona got a some toys for Valentine's Day. We wanted to buy her another doll since the one that she loves so much is missing! We think it's at the daycare. It would have helped to have it while she was sick. I know she missed her soft friend to cuddle with while she was miserable. We couldn't find a cute doll, so we got her some toys that are easy for her to grab.

Even though we didn't do any big thing, I think it was the best Valentine's Day with the sweet girl!

Fever

Ramona ran a fever of 101.9 for the full 48 hours after her shots. She looked absolutely miserable. Luckily school was closed on Friday due to the massive amount of snow we got. We laid around the house with the baby girl while she slept and tried to get comfortable. We didn't ever get out in the snow with her. I figured it wouldn't be smart. Let's hope that it snows next year even just half as much as it has this year so we can finally get her out in it! I am glad that she is better now. It was so heartbreaking to see her so sick.

4 Month Checkup

Nick took Ramona to the doctor for her 4 month well check in the morning. She is 25 1/4 inches long and 14 lbs 2 oz. Dr. Harmon says that she is ready for solids. I am apprehensive about it. I wanted to breast feed exclusively for 6 months. Nick is excited about starting solids with her. I know it will make things interesting and fun.

It has snowed about 6 inches today, so the daycare closed at 4. VHA closed at 1, so Nick had a short day with the doctor's appointment. He picked up Ramona. I was so excited to come home and take her out in the snow to play. I went to change her into something warm. I noticed that she was hot. I took her temperature. She was 101.9. We called the doctor and gave her Tylenol. No snow for her. I hope that it goes away tomorrow, so we can play in the left over snow. I am sure there will still be lots because it hasn't stopped!

A New Friend

Nick and I went to our friends Valerie and Daniel's house for lunch. Val and Daniel had their son Dylan a few days after we had Ramona. It was so cute to see Dylan and Ramona together. We had a nice time catching up with Val and Daniel. It was fun to share stories and talk about how much things have changed over the last 4 months for both of us! It's just so much better than we could have ever imagined.

4 Months

Ramona is 4 months! Her check up is on the 11th, so we will see her measurements then, but she is in size 3 diapers and getting really chunky. It's precious. She is really starting to reach out at things and grab them.

First this month:

Attended her first birthday party for her buddy Caleb.
Flew on an airplane like a champ!
Attended her first wedding.
Slept in her crib (barely but still)
Stayed with her Mimi while her parents went out

Big Girl Time

We are attempting to get Ramona to sleep in her crib. She has been our little cosleeper which I love. She's a great at cuddling. However I am taking a very difficult and demanding class this semester, so I have to have time at night to work on homework. I can no longer head to bed at 8 with her. She won't go to sleep without me. She doesn't view Nick as a substitute.

We are letting her cry for 5 minutes before going in and comforting her. Then we go to 10 min, 15 min., etc. until she goes to sleep. It took her about 1 and a 1/2 hours to fall asleep the first night. It was very difficult for me to listen to her cry. I just watched her on the video monitor. I'm not going to lie I was cuddling the monitor.
